One of the last still affordable, truly great Detroit double-hitters.

A beautifully clean copy of the New York press of this fabulous vocal-group double from the desk of Melvin Davis, arranged by the legendary L.P.T's. Johnny Mills hitting through that attention seeking drumming on the intro, Billy McCoo on bass, Curtis Trusell on guitar and the gifted Fred Bridges hammering out that relentless piano backing.

The silky "Hamilton" vocal with his signature, slightly panting, reaching out style. Receives huge support, from frantic heavy-duty-horns and a rich male-group harmony (The Fifes) and enthusiastic studio sound effects. Really inspiring Northern Soul fills your space. Jubilant trumpets blast the way, constant drum pulse driving the arrangement, with occasional well timed "whip cracks" for added effect, whilst the exuberant male harmony chorus drive home Edward's promise of love!

The not as obvious flipside is every note as good, with the "Fifes" again delivering harmonic perfection. Subtle horns allowing every syllable of Edward's desperation to "hear from his girl" to ring through crystal clear. His need is palpable, underpinned by some of the finest male-harmony you could ever wish to hear.

Two great sides, a hard disc to find in such clean condition.

Giving up, as you already know, not one but two killer Motor City Northern Soul dancers.
