Cool jazzy Northern Soul presented as a glorious "black is beautiful" offering of this perennial dancefloor filler,

Eddie Bishop guided by the steady hands of Bill Ramal & Marty Wilson enriches Tony Hatch's much recorded song. Completely ignoring Petula Clark's 1965 original take, a racing upbeat stomper that was just too lively for it's own good.
Step in Herb Alpert remodelling the theme, injecting a Latino touch, silky rhythms by taking the foot off the gas. Adding Chris Montez's seductive vocal, an uplifting handclapping mid-paced stroller of pure class unfolds. Alpert following it up with "The More I See You" Chris Montez's career sky rocketed and that Latino smooth groove was the flavour of the month in mid-60's.

Then the Ramal-Wilson New York producing team take it a step further replacing the beckoning vocal with a provocative saxophone, and it work fantastically! Decorated with an insistent piano, handclaps and flirtatious girls choruses. the rich Saxophone manipulation takes it to completeness. A narcotic slab of Jazzy Northern Soul that once heard will never leave your head...

For decades now this classic instrumental has pleasured the Northern Soul dancefloors of Great Britain, packing them onto dance space everytime... an essential DJ box resident and looking gorgeous as a black "stocker"
