a fine clean 1958 UK press

Originally presented as a flipside "Beside My Love" emerged over the years as a classic R&B group-harmony ballad. A style of sound that in 1958 the UK general public were not completely seekinng. Other than the sound of the Platters very little else managed to chart.

Gathering from Harlem, New York. included Curtis Blandon's brother Richard Blandon, Cleveland Still, Jimmy Miller, Bill Carlisle and Thom Gardner a time served group having starting life as The Marvels. Before launching a rather successful career as The Dubs.

This 45 offers two sides to this R&B group versatility, initially leading with an upbeat group shaker "Gonna Take A Chance" before the DJ's picking up on the sublime "Beside My Love"

Super rare as this British 45 release that today is consider a fine example of the New York, R&B harmony sound, in it's rarest form.
