1974 unissued studio version; Widely know from her magnificent 1974 live show at Caesars Palace. Diana takes the song from the Stephen Schwartz's Broadway hit "Pippin". The song portrays "Pippin" the Prince in search of meaning and his own existence; inspired by the book written by Roger O. Hirson.

For Diana Ross fans, Motown scholars and British TMG collectors this 45 is thought to be a one-off, and certainly the first time ever it has come to market.

A different 3':27" version with light applause dubbed at the very end. Different to the 4:04" take "Diana Ross Live At Caesars Palace" release and never available as a 7" anywhere in the world.

The British Motown 7" compleatists you most probably will never see this 7" 45 acetate only, again. For Diana Ross collectors we believe this is the only copy, cut at EMI studios in 1974. We a thought of a 45 release or album track filler that never happened.

May we repeat, a unique Motown, British TMG and Diana Ross listing that is a one-off opportunity of ownership.

Condition Report

neatly handwritten label, vinyl Wurlitzer just a few very mild surface hairline storage brushes. Visually Ex + plays well occasional light background crackle that does not distract from the song in any way.
