Not Philadelphia but a seriously rare Phoenix, Arizona 45.

In 1957 it was maybe OK but in today’s climate, this off-beat Rockin’ stroller would have been frowned upon with these politically incorrect lyrics.
With a hookline “I Was Naive, I Couldn’t Believe, She Was A Tramp”, words that would have met resistance from the censors, perhaps.

But controversial off-colour lyrics do not undermine the fabulously raw guitar picking, the persuasive lead vocal, all brilliantly supported by an uncredited male vocal group choruses. This most unusual recording creeps under your skin, as the very essence of the 50’s seeps from every note and word.

The flipside is also saturated in “local” charm and again featuring standout plectrum work, with that well-endowed vocal again cradled by the male harmony group taking every opportunty to enrich the recording even further.

Take a listen to a most unusual double blending of 50’s Rock n’ Roll and Teen. On an eye-catching label establish in 1952, with every 45 ridiculously RARE . This disc is not exception, seriously hard to acquire. And giving up two recording that will stay with you, long after the turntable has stopped.

Condition Report

Two clean labels, no fade to the rich orange. Vinyl reveals some very fine hairlines under direct light, none affecting play in thef slightest. A strong clean Ex + throughout.
