Back in time, as a teenager, we would all be looking forward to the weekend's adventure, solely to dance to soul records you couldn't hear anywhere else. Now I'm a pensioner I'm still doing the same thing, travelling to Great Yarmouth's annual Soul Essence weekender because I know I'm gonna hear records of this quality. Currently the preserve of discerning on-line DJ sets, or those much-missed chillout Sundays, where tunes like Darrow Fletcher's - It's No Mistake - make the lazy day go so swimmingly well.

After decades of being highly coveted by collectors and one of the finest examples of the soulful dance genre, it still hasn't yet crossed over to the NS mainstream. But received huge exposure in the North at places like The Orwell, Canal Tavern at Thorne etc. Venues where discerning DJs served up Michelin star dance soul. Some records are possibly too darn Soulful grab the attention of the masses.

Surely not!

As how could anybody not adore Darrow Fletcher and not be totally in love with this song. To be fair "It's No Mistake" is pretty elusive, as it is only available as the non-selling store copy. So maybe not too many NS mainstream DJ's own a copy? Whatever the stumbling-block for this 45 not being one of the most-wanted rare-soulful-dance 45s's on the scene. That will change at some point, as it is just one of the most sublime NS modern dancers of them all, and the reason this pensioner and his missus travel to places, we would never normally go to.

To hear Darrow in full flow, cradled by soaring strings, is a blissful experience.

It's a MASTERPIECE that every NS DJ should strive to have in their box - listen and float away on the warm thermals of a "Northern SOUL Giant" who made us all cry when he graced the stage at Cleethorpes Weekender and made us dream of owning his cancelled Crossover album, that these two tracks would have been part of.

Listen and weep, then listen and swoon, then listen and dance... you know ownership in the right hands is gonna make this awesome tune, leap to the next level.
