Description

Description

Livingstone Thompson with a 1968 UK press in fine clean condition.

Jangling guitar rhythm open this innuendo crammed 1968 British press. The prolific Robert Livingstone's 11th single he performed on this highly sought after label, on which he was also the producing driving force.

Topside is a typically inspiring "Dandy" session, with the unusual addition of a Latin guitar mixed into Caribbean Island rhythms. It really works as the cheeky Mr. Livingstone tells his new girl how sweet "The Ride" will be with him... naughty but nice without being in the least offensive. A strong dance tine unfolds.

Flip it over, piano opens the proceedings soon to be joined by bass-guitar pulses and a zippy harmonica. No saucy lyrics just a delightful instrumental you'll be listening to more than once.

Two good Rock Steady sides, by a man who was recording good tunes at a rate of knots on this his own label during 1967 / 68. This being one of his best..
