The to-die-for cover - is just one of the alluring qualities of this super-rare South African only 1967 album.

The darling of Northern Soul with her version of Paul Simon's "You Don't Know Where Your Interest Lies" sitting firmly within the top 20 best-loved female Northern Soul classics of the last 50 years. Her muscular vocal transforming the original version into a very special Northern Soul dancer. It was that unshakable "Italian" power that won her the release of 10 albums, two EPs and a numerous singles in her homeland of South Africa prior to going to New York City to work with great Charlie Calello.

In Johannesburg, Dana's incredible voice earned her the Best Female Vocalist SARIE award two years running (1964 and 1965) for Best Female Vocalist.

So listen now to this gorgeous lady's portrayal of two Northern Soul classics.. we think you'll love the thought of the surprise impact of dropping them into your set, as well as the proven rarity of this super scarce album... not to mention the frame-worthy cover pose..

Iconic time-served Northern Soul DJ’s Richard Searling and Neil Rushton have been mentioned in Northern Soul dispatches for spinning Dana fabulous non-45 version of Barbara McNair’s anthem “You’re Gonna Love My Baby” both DJs turning heads and triggering puzzled chatter as the much-loved song rings out with the sultry vocal of Dana instead of Barbara’s.

Likewise will be true, if any DJ blasted out “That’s How Heartaches Are Made” another Northern Soul classic benefitting from Dana’s memorable voice. Plus the mesmeric bonus mid-tempo track “Poor Boy” making it a hat-trick of Northern Soul notables for this gorgeous lady. None of which ever appeared as 7” 45s in any country.

Seldom seen, essential vinyl for NS DJ’s who like to push the boundaries.
