Description

A beyond sought-after and utterly insane 1964 Garage/Surf instrumental'; presented on an attractive New England label.

Showcasing this very cool 4 man band "The Creations" with their first of only two 45 releases. Both create a smoke-screen over their middle-class small-town origins with a red-herring address location as TOP HAT RECORDS INC. NEW YORK., N.Y. these sunglass wearing dudes hailed from the beautiful and affluent coastal town of Milford, Connecticut. But conveyed hard-nose New York attitude with an angry n' pacey guitar blow-out. Displaying peerless-plectrum manipulation with a fast n' furious guitar assault, whilst still maintaining melodic rhythms among the crashing cymbals and the agitated drumming, an instrumental experience you can't help be inspired by.

The flipside "Chickie Darlin " also has its followers, with considerate guitar picks backing up a melancholy Teener, that made me quickly flip it back over to relight my spirits.. I'm not a fan of young crooners wooing a girl with unnecessary pleading. Somebody should have told Danny Gomes, girls are drawn to guys who don't give a damn, like the lead guitarist on "Crash". A brilliantly belligerent display of guitar masterery.

No wonder this 45 is one of the 60's most-wanted surf instrumentals.

Condition Report

tiny neat inscription "Eve + Dick Hudson" on the whining Teener flipside, is the label's only pimple on an otherwise sturdy "Rite Sound" pressing. Some soft age-browning to the white background (see images) . Vinyl is typically "Rite" heavy-duty solid groove mastering. Carries strong gloss with multiple soft hairlines revealed when angled in the light. As you can hear "Crash" plays loud crisp and clean, the occasional soft tick if you listen hard enough, is totally lost in the "crashing power of the surf..."
