The Muscle Shoals team brilliantly borrow from Bert Berns and the atmosphere of the Brill Building output. Crafting two fabulous mid-tempo beaters.

"Stand By Me" rhythms percolate the landscape, for that velvety McPhatter delivery to freewheel between the blows of "Latin" inspired horn pulses. Shrill girls decorate with a heavenly chorus. An easy plucked throbbing guitar, draws you into this Drifters-esque Soulful stroller, reveling in the lyrical genius of Bob Montgomery & Rick Hall's Alabama poetry.

A truly fabulous tune, one of my favourite McPhatter songs, complimented by an almost as enchanting flipside, with the backing girls again in full voice. Subtle Muscle Shoal horns, and again the easy-going plectrum-plucks unfold into another addictive Soulful cruise.

Presented here as a gorgeous archive level green & white demo, adorn with the much loved "Soul Supply" logo

In this condition, very elusive indeed!.
