First press original of Clyde's very best vocal group rocker, ironically one of his least encountered red Atlantic 45's. Especially in this fine clean condition.

The "value" side "Deep Sea Ball" was written by the accomplished Winfield Scott considered by many as one of the late 50's finest lyricists. Whips up a Rock N' Roll storm, with a tongue-twisting pace that Clyde expertly delivers onto a rich platform a male & female harmony choruses. A male bass vocal adding depth and a rapid saxophone pumping out dance pulse as well as some impressive solo breaks. A saxophone display that almost steals the show, if it wasn't for Clyde's seamless vocal powers.

A pacey, word perfect display of real-deal Black vocal group Rock N' Roll

The flipside is also a mighty frenzied Rocker from the pens of Jerry Wexler & Nesuhi Ertegun, showcasing exactly where Jackie Wilson found his well-documented inspiration from, check out that familiar phasing and vocal pasterns. that Jackie was soon to re-polish and make his trademark "Mr. Excitement" whoops and calls. Watching Clyde was where it all started.. "Let The Booge Woogie Roll" highlights McPhatter's influence over Jackie W's style.

Two very strong tunes on one elusive 45.
