Description

RAREST OF THE RARE - the first version

The ( I AM ) machine stamped Capitol press, allegedly made for "For Promotional Purposes Only" Extremely hard to find!

"Boy" was a song the hard-working Cleveland Robinson truly believed after his initial Nosnibor 1006 "tester" he revisited the song 3 more times with a different version on Nosnibor1011 again with Nosnibor1012 then again on a "Rite" sound press on purple label with silver text.

All of them worthy songs, all elusive. But Nosnibor1006 the first solid no frills Northern Soul version is the one to own and by far the hardest one to acquire. Showcasing Cleveland's rich rasping vocal, backed with hard-blown trumpets and aerial trumpets punching the air, validated by a brisk shrill bevvy of girls providing explosive choruses.

Reminiscent of George Kirby in presence and muscle and flowing Jazz undertones.

Simplistic but utterly brilliant!
