Truly beautiful mid-60's Motor City cruiser, enjoying an appreciation from collectors and dancer for over 40 years. A 45 that has never been reissued, never spoiled by DJ overplays, still retaining its mystic and charm.

A 2:37 haunting experience, drawing from other Detroit Diva's like Mary Wells, Kin Weston, Brenda Holloway. So very much in their vein, with her effortless style woven into a arrangement with smooth as silk uncredited vocal harmony choruses, enriching the background. A gorgeous slab of mid-tempo shimmering with all the qualities we expect from higher budget label. Not local D.I.Y. labels, written and produced by virtual unknowns.

Flip it over for an impressive backing track, capturing the very essence of Detroit studio arrangements of the time. if only we knew who was behind thef intricate guitar skills woven in-between, subtle horns, swirling Hammond pulses; with a "Earl Van Dyke-esque" persistent piano and typically rhythmic percussion driving the dance beat. So reminiscent of Motown's great girl tracks of that era, without ever sounding like the "Harris Boys" are blatantly copying the Motown sound.

A fabulous example of the street level talent that littered the Detroit neighbourhoods of the 60's not only accomplished writing, arranging and producing but also fringe singers with standout voices.

It's hard to believe this songbird only had 3 45's released in her name... so near yet so far from the dream of stardom.
