Sumptuous, top quality Northern Soul mid-tempo, that I immediately retrieved my own collection copy to file in my DJ Box, it is a completely irresistible example of mid-tempo Northern Soul . I'd forgotten just how stunning this 1966 Nashville session was. From the pens of band members Mac Gayden & Jerry Tuttle part of a congregation of Nashville's finest session musicians, all going on to have rewarding careers as valued studio members.

Monument in there wisdom led with the group's jam of Marvin Gaye's Motown classic "Stubborn Kind Of Fellow" which quiet frankly fails miserably, as the group never get near matching Motown's magic with a Harmonica replacing the original's girl-group choruses, just does not, for me, work.

As so often has happens a true masterpiece lay obscured on the flipside of failed recording, for decades until the Northern Soul pioneers give it long overdue turntable exposure...

I'm totally enamored by this mid-tempo NS floater, that draws you into it's stunningly haunting atmosphere of newfound optimism. As it builds and builds on a waves of silk-cloth of blowing in the breeze, with the occasional gust of pouting trumpets from above. Resist it's overwhelming charms if you can!

Very rare and in need of much more Northern Soul acknowledgment, my own copy is now sat in my box... as today's revisiting has completely bowled me over. Just entrancing Northern Soul...
