Description

Description

The flawless blending of a superior seasoned vocal, riding hard-blown mournful horn crafts irresistible Northern Soul, that has motivated full dancefloors for over 4 decades.

Chicago's Randy Hart teams up with the writer of Marlena Shaw's Chicago Northern Soul classic "Let's Wade In The Water" Lee Magid, creating, when you dig deeper, a not-so blue-eyed Northern Soul monster!

Lee Magid an experienced Blues producer, having directed some of the biggest voices in R&B Clara Ward, Varetta Dillard, Della Reese, Lou Rawls to name but a few. So that's why this session with Randy carries soaring soulful trumpets, and a soulful production. Randy Hart may not be the same colour as the four iconic voices mentioned above, but he too has a rich booming "R&B" approach. Processing a vocal with the necessary, snarl at the edge of flowing richness. As he proved when he was the lead singer in the 3-M's with Funny Cafe on ABC, or his United Artists 45s. Mr. "Cajun Hart" delivers a thunderous vocal on most all the 45 he was involved in.

Add to that the authoritative direction of Ray Charles’s long term arranger and renowned trumpeter Sid Feller; and we have R&B expertise in a three-way team, capable of turning the composing of Douglas Goodwin. A musician who spent most of his career creating whimsical songs for Fred Flinstone, Yogi Bear etc at Hanna-Barbers studios, into an unstoppable Northern Soul monster!

So now relive this floor-packing explosion of sound, that has triggered magical-mayhem inside Britain’s all-nighters, for so long...
