One of Byron Lee's least seen British 45s.

"Bond In Bliss" is s throwback title as Byron Lee and the Dragonaires were the band playing in the Bond movie "Dr. No" in 1962. Surely a crowning moment in Byron Lee's career at the time.

This 1970 Skinhead Reggae instrumental underlines Lee's gift of adapting unusual sounds, from improvised playing techniques and manipulated instruments. THis sessions renders the saxophone almost unrecognisable as searing stabs attack the keyboard rhythms. As always with the Dragonaires it all works so well, with an addictive dance session flooding your ears.

Flip it over and over again Byron Lee's eccentric use of the saxophone meets keyboard delivers a memorably different groove.. 1969 and 1970 were big years for Byron Lee, recording 15 different singles, this one many consider his best for Trojan but remained only on the edges of success and today is a difficult find, in playable condition.

This 45 has beautifully play clean vinyl.

Condition Report

4 prong centre fully intact, tiny writing on a-side label perimeter just to the top of the "RECORDS" text (see images). Flipside label is clean. Vinyl gives up only the finest surface hairlines under direct light..plays a clean mint minus. house in Trojan sleeve. Looks gorgeous.. doesn't it.
