Description

Description

Very RARE 1951 original press of this fine R&B Bopper.

Almost 70 years old and in remarkable condition, check out those two clean, crisp soundfiles of this uplifting rarity that will interest modern R&B DJ's seeking out these early Blues artefacts with dancefloor drive. These early 50's 45s that seldom appear for sale in Europe, 45's that add a touch of uniqueness to their sets; that this rippling joyous R&B dance session certainly would.

Brownie's seamless richly coated growling are woven into a full dance orientated stomper, vents his need to move to the other side of the Mississippi. Starting with a moody saxophone opening up proceedings, following relentless piano pulses whilst the previously considerate saxophone moves into the fore with a fabulous solo pause, McGhee glides back in his enthusiasm dripping from every word naming Memphis's famed streets he is about to leave behind. Then a terrific guitar break elevates the session yet another notch drawing to a close one excellent example of early 50's R&B Stomp.

Vocal group fans will enjoy the flipside as Brownie shows off his considerable crooning skills, backed up by an uncredited vocal group with that maudlin saxophonist decorating a background awaiting for his solo break, of pure class, whilst the understated vocal-group backing enriches the song.

Two great sides, not only very RARE, the condition is exceptional.
