If you are serious about Northern Soul classics in their rarest format .

BOOM!! Here's a hideously rare DEMO of the rarest promo copies within the realms of Northern Soul real-deal classics!

One of the unsolved mysteries of Northern Soul is, who actually was Bobby Treetop? With only two singles credited to his name both of which are highly prized Northern Soul trophies..
"Wait Till I Get To Know You" being a the most-popular in it's heyday of late "Torch" - early "Wigan Casino" when it suffered the indignity of being bootlegged several times.

Click the soundfile for a renaissance with "The Casino" at it's most vibrant, rumbling dance rhythms put in place by Jazz magician Benny "Killer Joe" Golson. Lyrics penned by New York wordsmith Kenneth Williams.. what a superb slab of Northern Soul the pairing created... His magnificent "So Sweet, So Satisfying" added another layer of mystique to his name. But I for one, spent many of my early years hoping for more "Treetops" Because a 3rd 45, once rumoured in the record bar at Wigan..I even met a guy, who's mate had a copy, but he wasn't sure what the title was.. what a tease that turned out to be.

Having said all that, it is a pleasure to have this record with me today, because I can relive the visual magic it weaved across the dancefloors every time it was played..

But for me the real joy today, is to see a DEMO wearing a great big D J COPY for maybe my very first time, I've certainly not had a copy in the last 20 years and maybe never before that.. check out the right hand side of the label, a rare sight indeed. DJ COPY. A top-drawer NS classic in by far it's rarest form.

Now stand up Bobby Treetop who ever you may be?
