It's got me by the throat - a superior example of proper mid-paced Soul saturated in palpable need...

Real Soul fans prepare to be blown away - by this imploring Chicago masterpiece of Crossover Northern Soul.

Produced by Sidney A. Chivers, arranged by A. A. Smith, written by Othea George the same Detroit / Chicago combination that created standout material for Pauline Shivers and Bobby Jones etc. This time going to the very pinnacle of their creativity, with this impassioned plea for his about to return girl, to take all his love this time and not to break his heart this time.

Billy wants his girl back again, but he could not endure another heartbreak. His fears rippling from his every word, a trembling voice in trepidation, delivering fully-charged, utterly convincing tangible-soul. Pulling you deep into his unexpected situation, that is tearing him apart.

Brilliant Northern Soul Crossover of the most poignant kind, a record that locks you heart and soul into his situation, as you await a happy conclusion, a finality that sadly never unfolds.

The flipside is an uplifting slab of Northern Soul, that would on its own, require you to seek ownership. A really strong dancer maybe, but the A-side is so superior to anything I've heard in recent times, I quickly found myself going back to the other side, for another taste of Billy's unbearable situation.
