The Leicester Boys!

Adam Buchannan along with Robin Salter surely helped to elevate this space/boogie dance delight into the very fabric of the 80s Northern Soul club scene. A silky smooth Pittsburgh, Pa creation by William Herdon of The Altairs guided by one of "The Burg's" dance producers Larry Butch McGee.

"Bill" soon became a popular countrywide spin. With top clubs like The Oddfellows, Leicester, Rock City, Notts, Morecombe Pier, Carlton club (Warrington), TOTW Stafford, Queens Hall Bradford in fact most everywhere during the 80's was graced by this silky-smooth dance groove with the sci-fi intro. A signal for dancefloor invasion, appreciated by all.

We're listing it today as not only nostalgic throwback of those days and because I'd forgotten how Benson-esque William Herdon's vocal style was. Especially on the sultry flipside stepper with the striking saxophone display... a new candidate for Sunday chill-out exposure we think. But of course "Bill" was a singing and writing partner off George's in the celebrated Pittsburgh Doo-Wop band "The Altairs" with George Benson in the team his influence seemed to have shaped Bill persona.

Two contrasting but great sides presented in spectacular condition
