This week's Popcorn Prowler is a persuasive 1957 New York creation from the pen and the voice of Luther Dixon.

This is the original version, from the man who wrote it, played at the correct 45rpm speed not a tampered with, speeded up or slowed down. Unlike the files you may encounter on YouTube. This is the real deal, that recently received a reissue on the flipside of the girl version by Ann Leonardo, also the poorer for the artificially adjusted RPM. Check out this mighty, moody monster benefitting from Luther Dixon booming vocal, that surely should never be diluted by the slider pitch adjustment.

Down n' dirty, super-cool tune, fully supported by a soaring male group chorus and a snappy enticing dance beat. The saxophonist grabs the mood, serving up a snarling interlude that will have you snaking around the room.

This is R&B/Popcorn at it's most addictive, a crowd pleaser of huge proportions.

Seldom seen for sale in such fine clean condition.
