Ollie McLaughlin & Dale Warren collaborate on Betty Lavette's rarest 45 and it's a killer, two times over!

Both sides giving it mighty productions ideal for this Diva's magnificently tormented outpourings. Lyrics her voice incarcerates and then tears to shreds.

We consider "Ticket To The Moon" as Bettye's most Soulful moment, brilliantly written by two ladies Ruth Burtom, Hazel Moy with a guiding eye coming from Melvin Moy; the trio steer a dark, mysterious journey deep into the depths of Detroit Soul. Dale Warren's skilled arrangement builds up a vortex of drumming pulses, inviting booming brass to join Bettye's tortured narrative, the result is stunning. A potent display fromone of Soul greatest ever songbirds, who can turn joy into torture at the flick of her gravel-coated voice.

With Ollie McLaughlin seamlessly knitting all the components together, a breath-taking masterpiece unfolds..and Bettye's greatest session is born.

In the same vein, Warren & McLaughlin persuade Ms Lavette to rework her 1965 classic " Let Me Down Easy" giving it a new funky cutting edge, at a stroll. Interesting stroke of genius from the three players, Bettye rises to the challenge giving up another truly moving performance, woven into a meaty no holds barred production.

Rare Soul Diva at her most convincing with a 45 that has proved once again she is one of the greatest of all time..

Condition Report

Two flawless labels, vinyl that gives up hardly a blemish under direct light. Darn hard 45 to acquire in anything above unplayable condition. Rare condition for a very elusive 45 indeed.
