Georgia meets Alabama on this, rare Northern Soul glider, with its roots firmly set in the south. Both sides written by the Georgian saxophonist Herb Ryals, who teams up with the Muscle Shoals hitmaker Arthur Alexander a highly talented composer himself.

On "Keep Her Guessing" the combination works brilliantly with the rich voice of Arthur A. being swept along by Herb's "Boots Randolph" inspired percolating saxophone manipulation. Bubbling and burping away in the background of this stirring production, the saxophone solo 2/3rds of the way through, is really something special, with the saxophone flurry at the finale completing this compelling NS dancer.

This is by far Arthur's rarest Dot 45, after a string of self-composed minor hits, in November 1963 "Keep Her Guessing" was relegated to the b-side of a novelty answer song to "Sally Go Round The Roses" which correctly was a total flop. Leaving Arthur Alexander finest Northern Soul creation, his rarest 45 by far.

"Keep Her Guessing" is an unforgettable cocktail of the Alex's memorable voice, partitioned by Herb's rasping sax, smoothed over by a fluid male-vocal-group chorus.
