If ever a Northern Soul 45 needed more All Niter exposure - this is it.

Amazingly Vince Arter's one and only Northern Soul offering.. where as producer Mel Friedman was the prolific driving force behind the Musicland U.S.A. giving MODS and Northern Soul a string of great recordings to consider.

Mel recorded many St. Louis, Missouri hopefuls always crafting full-on, no expense spared production, his biggest success was of course Bob Kuban & The In Men and the unforgettable;e Club-classic "The Cheater.."

"Look Out For The Cheater" was the cry in 1965, whilst the Northern Soul pioneers dug past the obvious and uncovered a stunning gem everybody missed in 1966. Quite easily the label's most significant Northern Soul offering. Check out Vince's advisory lyrics cannoned out through a barrage of brass, by an uncompromising Sister vocal, cradled buy a team of shrill ladies delivering relentless choruses.

Friendman's arrangement is a constant fanfare of horns and crashing drums, with the match up to, with powered voices.. the result is NORTHERN SOUL as good a dancer you could ever wish to collide with.

The cocktail of big-blown-brass, PMT vocal giving of dismissive attitude works a treat.. then a distilled instrumental break bring the whole session together..

Can someone tell me why this isn't yet a compulsory Northern Soul play.. just dripping with all the right ingredients to destroy the dancefloor and it's rare..
