Description

Description

Are you ready for a dreamy excursion into Cleveland, Ohio mid-tempo NS crossover, with the flipside giving up silky sweet soul...Classy vocal group Northern Soul and Low Rider heaven is only a click away from 7th Heaven a group that grew from the remnants of The Donations, who did that great song on another Cleveland indie, Dee O's Records "I'm Going To Treat You Good" but this listing is so much rarer.

A delicious 1971 street-level harmony soul that picks up pace, to morph into a classy Soulful Stepper from the desk of Sherman Satchel. A project from 1971 that has remained hard to find for several decades now. Whilst the other gems on this highly regarded label occasionally surface. Check out the seamless blending of subtle funky rhythms with floating harmonies, led by a creamy vocal. Supported throughout by silky vocals with considerate horns and guitar bridging it all together.

Top tune dripping in quality.. but there's more.. flip it over for arguably the best side; Cleveland sweet soul woven into gentle piano pulses, cradling soaring ice-cold falsettos, as they rise and fall on a wave of the group's convincing disbelief. Then as the top-side did, the pace changes a gear and ends on a note of dance..

The group consisted of locals Walter Johnson, Duane Gardner, Sherman Satchel and Eddie 'BB' Brown, with a managerial trio of James Page, Travis Jones and Lloyd Tucker making up 7th House.

Two strong sides - one elusive disc.
