EMI desperate to follow up the Fifth Dimenson's two top 20 hits in the UK "Let The Sunshine In" 1969 and "Wedding Bell Blues" 8 months later in 1970.

For some unknown reason they regressed back 42 months to pull from the genius of Willie Hutch and his magnificent double helping of vocal group Northern Soul from 1966. Whilst both sides were inspiring soul dance sessions, the ploy failed miserably. The release failed to sell a bean. Leaving its dancefloor credentials to be discovered by the investigative Northern Soul street culture; with the uptempo "Train Keep On Movin'" perfect for NS fuel. Receiving steady DJ attention through the years. A frantic n' lively stomper that gained a reputation, that had those market stall, junk shop, record fair foragers on high-alert through the decades.

Now decades on, from its first exposure, Northern Soul started to take on a classier, more subtle dancefloor approach and it was "I'll Be Lovin' You Forever" that started to get all the attention, mostly played from the Los Angeles Soul City 752, by several DJs. Just before lockdown, I joined its burgeoning appreciation cult, featuring in several of my own freestyle Sunday Chill-out sets at Feed Your Soul - Newark. Several times I was asked by the vinyl-curious with taste "What is this..? it's great!"

Obviously it would be great, as it was a Willie Hutch, Gene Page, Marc Gordon collaboration, arguably the most talented mid-60's soul team in Los Angeles at the time. Now listen to a most-wonderful "sleeper" that has been stirring over the last few years, as they all completely apprehend the sound of Motown, the atmosphere of the Four Tops; embedding those ingredients into a swirling vortex of Northern Soul with the Hutch, Page, Gordon identity full intact as it builds and builds on rising strings and horns, that will have you completely hooked.

Then enjoy what was played at Wigan, The Pier, and many other legendary venues; the vibes saturated, even-pacier "Train Keep On Movin'" that almost but not quite becoming a timeless NS classic, obscured by r the weight of the unparalleled competition for dancefloor space through those spoilt-for-choice 70's...

Two killer sides with "I'll Be Lovin' You Forever" breaking surface, with ripples that about to erupt in a tsunami if lockdown never returns..

The perfect inspirational "Niter" tune! Presented here as a MINT British press
