Beatles

Day Tripper + We Gott'a Work It Out (sic)

HISTORICAL VINYL FIND! Without fear of contradiction, we are humbled and thrilled to be announcing this listing as one of the most exciting BEATLES finds in recent times.

Two totally authentic, original, genuine 1965 PARLOPHONE test presses of R 5389 with BLANK “buzz” groove flipsides.

These two wondrous discs emerged from the estate of a former recording engineer, who emigrated to Australia. These were recently taken into a Western Australia Record Shop, for an astonished shop owner to purchase.

The “TEST” labels are there for all to see. Noting the four prong center carries a 11.00mm wide raised area, instead of the 13.00mm raised area of the regular release we have in stock.

DAY TRIPPER The machine stamped deadwax matrix are identical to the Parlophone R 5389 regular 1965 release; 7XCE 18342 = 1. with the tax code KT directly opposite, except for the GGL which is missing on the “Day Tripper” test press, but has the addition in the close to 9 o’clock position a machine stamped 1 or maybe a 7.

WE GOTT’A WORK IT OUT (sic). The machine stamped deadwax matrix are identical to the Parlophone R 5389 regular 1965 release; 7XCE 18341 -1/41. with the tax code KT directly opposite, again the GDL is missing on the “We Can Work It Out”. There are no other marking in the Test Press deadwax on this side.

The BUZZ blank flipside there are no matrix stamps, but both display a deep machine stamp hallmark 45-RPM-BACK both carry an unclear stamp in the 9 o’clock position.

Having handled in my lifetime possibly more 60’s British pressed 7” singles. I am 100% certain these are genuine real deal 1965 studio made test presses of Parlopone R 5389.

An incredible find that also included a Beatles + an Animals EMI Emidisc see the rest of the auction for these two breathtaking discs.

Let’s get serious, you do not need us to point out this will be a once-in-a-lifetime window to secure ownership.

Act accordingly….remembering these two were the FIRST of the masterplate, sound quality could not be finer!
