Errol Dixon

Heavy Shuffle / Gloria

Both sides ripple with relentlessly vibrant SKA dance rhythms. Making this disc one of Blue Beats most-wanted.

This “undoctored” rarity has surface marks but as you can hear plays without flaw. The surfaces have NOT been polished or renovated in any way. Even though the two labels only flaw is one faint faded X on the a-side which is hard to detect at first glance. This 45 is “authentic” “As is” and personally I prefer it that way.

Listen, it plays really nice, check out those two find labels.. resist if you can.

Roland Alphonso C/w Desmond Dekker & The Aces

The Cat / Rudie Got Soul

Does 1967 music get any more down n’ dirty than this..

Sway, sashay, to one of the most-addicted tunes ever committed to vinyl.. a display of saxophone excellence like you’ve not experienced in quiet some time.

The is an exhibition of under-your-skin dance that will just not leave your head..simplistic genius, as the blending of SKA, Egypt sand Jazz melt into a trance inducing wilderness of musical delights..

AWESOME and this copy is in seldom seen clean, neat and tidy condition.

If Roland ain’t enough to quench your vinyl-lustings, the flip side is really neat too

Knightmares

Ain't That A Lotta Love / Logan Stew

The vinyl desert of Oklahoma City gives up an insane twist of the Memphis marauder “A Lot Of Love”.

Homer Bank’s 60’s club classic receives full-blooded and intentionally served out of key guitar twangs to accompany the voice seemingly determined to annoy, of the lead vocalist. The song is cleverly punctuated with some intricate Fuzz; Making the deconstruction of Homer’s Twisted Wheel anthem work really well, as we voyage deep into the production.

Flip it over The Knightmares show-off the depth of the musicians involved with a fabulous Boo-Ga-Loo instrumental saturated in horns & sax, with wild guitar solo thrown in.

Two great sides, and anyone who has visit Oklahoma will testify find even a 45 rpm record there is no easy task.

Rare and offering up two mightily impressive sides!

Remember Rita / Lucky Star

At the very tail-end of the Doo-Wop era and Stan “Oooh Child” Vincent constructs a real winner!

This failed 1964 New Yorker offers up two different genres. The original a-side mimicked the styles of The Four Seasons with “Lucky Star” hanging onto the coattails of most every Frankie Valli recording pre-64.

But it’s the flipside that’s causing all the collectable interest, as Stan and the boys pull from their youth and deliver finely honed East Coast vocal-group Doo-Wop. Upbeat, strong, vibrant and totally infectious.

The vocal harmony is seamless, influences from all great 50’s vocal-group teams, a splash of the Beach Boys that works perfectly. Especially as the wailing saxophone drifts into the proceedings. A superior hand-clapping, finger-popping delight, that would surely have become a massive hit if promoted as the A-side.

But instead it languished, awaiting discovery by the “collectors” since then it’s reputation has deservedly grown into a legendary tune, that totally missed out upon it 1964 release.

Condition is flawless throughout!

Beverley All Stars C/w Delroy Wilson

The Monster / Show Me The Way

Finding this Skinhead anthem in acceptable condition is a daunting task.

Seems every DJ of the time 1970, made the labels unreadable protecting their “Secret Sound” as it spun on the turntables.

This example has a horrid defaced label, original push-out center has been removed.. But this former-cover/up still emits two fabulous Reggae club-dancers. The vinyl is clean on both sides, plays beautifully - label damage has to be taken into account whilst bidding but equally the same has to be said about the two stand-out tunes that lay in those cherished grooves..

Top Skinhead motivator..
