Label condition is flawless, a-side vinyl has some light surface marks but plays perfectly, perhaps more importantly the flipside is clean excect for a couple of very light blemishes. Pameline “Test Press” with Richard Popcorn Wylie’s signature on it. I did read somewhere this 45 being touted as “unique”, even suggesting it was the first press. Please note: This is the “Test Press” for the ORANGE label release, it is NOT unique but it is certainly rare enough to confidently say only a very few exist. The signatures on the discs are genuine “Popcorn” greetings. Having said all that, it is a wonderful piece of Detroit Northern Soul that carries the extra-bonus of memorabilia status of one of the scene’s true-icons.

The last copy we had of this 45 some years back, fell into the hands of a world renowned DJ. Since then the reputation of this disc has multiplied considerably. But even without the DJ exposure, you’d have to be a stone-deaf earthworm not to instantly appreciate this recording was made to pack dancefloors, and that’s exactly what it’s doing. 70s rare-dance-soul at it’s very, very best.
