Dickie Wonder
Nobody Knows
An absolutely spanking pristine copy! From the August Moon Richmond, Virginia stable comes the very first take of this all powerful example of real-deal Northern Soul, later to be distributed by Cameo-Parkway with an added girl-chorus. This is the first press, first take without any girly frills. RAW & AWESOME!

I Can't Let Him
When it’s comes to a real-good thumpin’ 60s girl-vocal classic style Northern Soul look no further than this Stan Vincent project. Brief drum roll, is blasted aside by an army of brass, leading the way for a lively girl vocal, backed up by a bevvy of shrill girls. Stan Vincent imaginative and potent production serves up a mountain of sound. This is another juggernaut that rattled those weathered stanchions of Cleethorpes Pier!

You Dropped Your Candy In The Sand C/w Do Whatcha Wanns Do
Label says “Give Me You Heart” but it plays the relentless Northern Soul stormer “You Dropped Your Candy In The Sand” a runway-truck of a tune. But do not overlook the other side, that was for a brief period in the mid-70s a huge All Niter play as the correctly pressed 45 and consequently bootlegged. I’m sure if this “miss press” of “Candy” had been discovered then, it would not have got a look in so superior is this, even to Paul’s many other truly great 45s.

Never Give Up Your Love C/w Out To Get-cha
This small town California rarity that gives the DJ two slick dance productions to choose from. Both carry glary qualities require for a much-bigger ticket, once it’s out there and heard. We do know Soul Sam has a copy “perched” and ready to air. But after that known copies are very thin on the ground.. One great record awaiting an audience with the dancefloor.

Long Long Road To Happiness
As they did on an earlier 45 on the Power label. Two greats of Los Angeles Soul join forces to mold a feelgood Northern Soul outing. Shirlie Matthews & Frank Wilson team up to write and produce this highly rated but elusive platter. Frank hits all those tricky notes that 12 months later he would be replicated on “Do I Love You (indeed I do)” again raising the question why Motown never used him as a singer. Anyhow, for almost 1000th. of the price you might be able own this 45, most collectors now actually prefer.

Que Sera, Sera C/w Daddy Ooh Long Legs
Lifted from Hitchcocks film “The Man Who Knew Too Much” and ironically, Doris Day’s version was the very first record I can ever remember hearing, as a 5 year old I loved it! (or was it Doris I loved?). Before you is the grown up version by Troy Keyes and his team. Not only a MOD anthem but also one of THE very hardest classic club-tunes to acquire as a UK DEMO! This copy is totally immaculate.. Today I consider this Yellow vision, even more beautiful than Doris herself.

You're Just Plain Nice C/w Don't Be More Woman
The failure to play the flipside of rare-soul 45s can deprive you of hearing a hidden-gem. Imagine the wonderful surprise I got, when I remembered I wasn’t sure what the flip of this highly-coveted Detroit Diamond sounded like. Yes, it’s another fabulous Northern Soul dancer, as if the a-side wasn’t enough to make you dive for the BID button. The “B” is a certain candidate for an early doors spin to get the “chin-scratches” running to the turntables.

Johnny Johnson And The Bandwagon
Twisted Wheel Flyer Approx 5" By 8"
1968 “Breakin’ Down The Walls Of Heartache” was the biggest tune in England, filling every dancefloor from the Youth Club, School Dance to the City center Palais! Such was the UK success Johnny Johnson was to leave the group and base himself in England. In 1968 The Twisted Wheel was already a legendary club, history brought the two together at Christmas 1970, when the Johnny & his new Bandwagon performed at The Wheel. This is a flawless handbill for that memorable event.

Keep Looking (but I Guess I'll Never Find Him)
This 45 spills over with young girl aspirations, the chance to become the next Supremes, Vandellas or something similar must have crossed their and Henry Smith’s minds as they joined forces for this clearly Detroit creation. A session that portrays girl-group harmony at it’s finest as their innocent vocals are laid over a Four Gents backing track. Absolutely love it!

Make Him Mine C/w One More Day
One of five 60s Detroit indie 45’s this Northern Soul Princess recorded. This one showcasing the “Hot” Lady in a smoother more soulful mood. A Rudy Robinson & Cody Black project with the “Hungry Five” assisting with the strong rhythm track littered with beautiful string work. A magnificent Motor City mid-pacer from one of the scene true-greats. BUT check out the flipside, for a lady pleading for 24 hours more with her man..before loneliness. Another string-driven killer yet to be unveiled.
